Thank you for checking out the RCQMA (River City Quarter Midgets Association)
web site. We hope our site helps answer any questions you might have about
Quarter Midget Racing. Quarter Midget Racing is a true form of grassroots racing
with dates back to the 1940's. Racing quarter midgets is one of the best ways to
grow a close bond with your children. Most new members do not have a racing
background. You do not have to be a mechanic to work on the these race cars.
Most of the work is simple nut and bolt type work. After you get started racing
you usually receive help from different members setting up your car and making
sure your kid is safe. We do have a formal novice class that your driver will need
to attend before they start racing. We are not the type of racing you see at the
go-kart track. Quarter midget racing puts your driver as the star of the show and
leaves a lot of responsibility in your hands to make the car fast. They do travel on
the edge so the drivers must be accurate and run a smooth race line to keep the
car from spinning out.We race on small tracks so that we can keep the speed
down while keeping the competition high. All you have to do is supply the driver,
safety equipment & car and we supply a place to race, the competition and a life
time of memories. If you have any questions please contact our President Mike
Lewis @ Lewis88@aol.com.
